Knee arthrometers are medical devices designed to evaluate state of the ligaments such as the ACL or the PCL. These advanced tools apply a reproducible force across the knee and mechanically measure the resulting displacement to obtain results.
Genourob's arthrometers currently provide the most reliable & reproducible method by using an innovative method: the automated dynamic laximetry method, LDA®.
Our arthrometers enable objective assessments of the ACL, the PCL and Knee rotation instabilities and can be used for pre-surgical but also post-surgical purposes without any risk compared to other arthrometers.
In addition, automation, which is present at the core of all our arthrometers places these medical devices at the number 1 position in the orthopaedic industry regarding knee ligaments assessment.

Both GNRB and ROTAM's usefulness extend from the preoperative to the postoperative phase of the patient's medical management. Running tests with both of them one after another enables medical practitioners to do a complete and overall objective check-up of knee laxity.
Additional options can be added to the GNRB to assess other structures in the knee (PCL, Rotab, or Radio).
The GNRB product line is the first product to have been created by Genourob. Its technology is based on the anterior drawer test also known as the lachman test and its main purpose is to give an objective and precise analysis of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
The GNRB is a unique arthrometer (or Laximeter) as contrarily to other medical devices designed for the assessment of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) like the KT1000/KT2000 or the rolimeter, data on the state of the ACL is collected while applying several forces on the tibia ultimately providing compliance curves (=opposite of stiffness curves). This feature integrated in the core of the GNRB arthrometer (or Laximeter) is what we call "the LDA®. Method" and make this device much more efficient for assessing knee laxity than any other arthometer. Other devices present on the market indeed only apply a single force on the tibia, they perform static tests. These were proven to be inefficient by the study of Bercovy and Weber in 1995:
"Stiffness is a biomechanical parameter of knee ligaments. It is highly correlated with the clinical symptoms of instability (p = 0,0001). It is more accurate than laxity which is a numerical value without mechanical significance."
The GNRB was therefore created to innovate in the field of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) analysis by performing dynamic tests on the knee in order to create the compliance curves (=opposite of stiffness curves). This arthrometer (or Laximeter) was quickly recognized as the most efficient medical device in the world designed for anterior cruciate Ligament (ACL) analysis.
Today, several options can be added to the GNRB to perform tests in addition to the analysis of the ACL such as the PCL option for assessment of the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL); the Rotab for a more precise analysis of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL); the Radio option to adapt to X-ray technology. All these options were designed to assess in the most precise way possible the ligamentous laxity of the knee.
ROTAM is the most recent innovation of Genourob. It is a medical device designed to analyze the state and performance of the knee peripheral ligamentous structures by inducing a controlled and motorized rotation of the tibia.
It offers doctors the possibility to apply medial and/or lateral rotation on the tibia of the patient in a controlled manner by means of a motor. Like most of Genourob's products, the LDA® Method is also incorporated in the ROTAM therefore providing dynamic tests with results shown under the form of curves.
Nowadays, there is no other device that collects data on the rotatory laxities with such reproducibility and precision. The ROTAM is particularly interesting to use on behalf of the GNRB or the GNRB PCL as it allows overall check up of the knee joint to be done. Additionally, it guides surgeons in knowing more whether cruciate ligament injuries are isolated or not to eventually plan ACL Reconstruction surgery followed by antero-external reinforcement surgery to ensure knee stability on the long term.
