    The LDA®: An innovative help in the diagnostics of ligament lesions and a new tool in the postoperative follow-up

    As a primary intention, confirming suspect clinical examinations, the Automated Dynamic Laximetry, LDA, features an objective detection of ACL (GNRB) and PCL (GNRB PCL) lesions and peripheral ligamentous structures (ROTAM)

    Postoperative, the obtained results inform about the healing process and the status of the ligament-plasty resistance, giving precise orientation on the choice of rehabilitation techniques.


    The GNRB and ROTAM are the only automated dynamic laximeters, where the test results can be integrated into patient data-management system of the institute.

    Precise and objective functional evaluation of ACL / Follow-up of the reconstruction.

    PREOPERATIVE

    The GNRB performs an automated anterior tibia translation and calculates new parameters for a more accurate evaluation of the ligament functionality of the knee.

    Δ134 = 2,4 mm, ΔP2 = 18 μm/N
    Almost complete lesion shown by divergent curves, major functional instability.

    In arthroscopy : Fostering by the PCL, no functional engagement of the ACL (connection without resistance, soft tissue). In MRI : difficult exploration (hemarthrosis, effusion)

    POSTOPERATIVE

    The laxity controls performed at regular intervals can be done with weak adapted pushes and therefore without risks for the ligament-plasty.

    Example of a postoperative follow-up after 3 months            Δ134 = 1,2 mm, ΔP2 = 0

    Good development of the plasty. The parallel curves show a good resistance of the ligament-plasty against the adapted pushes, without delay. The ligament-plasty is functional and the curves should ideally remain parallel until the end of the ligamentisation process.

    Precise and objective evaluation of peripheral ligament structures

    The ROTAM applies a motorized torque to the tibia-ankle-foot bloc and registers the provoked rotation, as well medial as lateral.
